RealTV (the “App”) is a mobile application that provides a guide to Korean TV and radio channels, electronic program guide (EPG) lookup, links to official live and VOD pages, and real-time radio listening.

This policy explains how users' information is processed in relation to the use of the App. The App can be used without any sign-up, and it does not collect or store directly identifiable personal information such as the user's name, phone number, or email address.

2. Information We Collect and Process

The App processes the following information only on the user's device.

  • Favorites: IDs of the TV and radio channels selected by the user (stored locally in SQLite).
  • Program guide cache: Channel and program schedule information retrieved from broadcasters' public APIs (stored in the device's localStorage).
  • In-app usage records (on device): Search queries, selected category and region filters, etc. (retained only during app use or on the device).

This information is not transmitted to the developer's servers, and the App does not use any separate analytics or advertising SDK for its operation.

3. Purpose of Use

  • Displaying TV and radio channel lists and the current broadcast and program schedule.
  • Saving favorite channels and providing quick access to them.
  • Searching for channels and programs.
  • Playing real-time radio streams and showing playback notifications (media notifications).
  • Linking to broadcasters' official web pages (live and VOD).

4. Network Communication and Provision to Third Parties

To provide its features, the App may communicate with the following external services from the user's device.

  • Program guide (EPG): Public APIs and web pages such as SBS, MBC, EBS, KBS, and TVING.
  • Radio streaming: Official stream URLs and related APIs such as KBS, SBS, and MBC.
  • Opening official pages: The websites of each broadcaster or platform (in an external browser or in-app browser).

The data transmitted during such communication consists mainly of request information for retrieving program schedules and streams, and the developer does not sell or provide users' personal information to third parties.

Once you move to an external site or streaming service, the handling of information follows the policy of that service.

5. Device Permissions

The Android app may use the following permissions.

  • Internet: Retrieving the program guide, radio streaming, and linking to official pages.
  • Notifications: Showing playback status notifications during background radio playback.
  • Foreground service / media playback: Keeping radio playing even when the screen is off or another app is in use.
  • Wake Lock: Preventing interruptions caused by device power saving during playback.

The App does not request access to location, contacts, camera, microphone, or storage (photos and files).

6. Retention Period and Disposal

  • Favorites and the program guide cache are stored on the user's device and are removed when the app data is cleared or the App is uninstalled.
  • The program guide is updated with the latest information when the App is launched or refreshed, and the previous cache may be overwritten.

Because user information is not stored on the developer's servers, there is no separate server-side disposal procedure.

7. Users' Choices and Rights

  • You can add or remove favorites at any time.
  • Automatic and manual updates of the program guide can be controlled through the settings and the refresh function on each screen.
  • When you uninstall the App or clear its app data in the device settings, app-related information stored on the device is removed.

8. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 14. If a guardian is concerned about a child's device usage, please use the device's app usage restriction features.

9. Security

The App is designed to store user information only within the device. However, the security of internet communication may vary depending on each OS and network environment, and caution is required in unstable environments such as public Wi-Fi.

10. Disclaimer and Legal Notice

RealTV is a guide app that presents public information and official links provided by broadcasters and platforms. It does not imply that the App is officially affiliated with broadcasters, copyright holders, or platforms, and the accuracy and availability of program schedules, streams, and URLs may vary depending on each provider's policy and technical status.

When watching streaming or VOD content, you must comply with the terms of service and copyright rules of the relevant service.

11. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised due to changes in laws, app features, or the scope of permissions used. In the event of significant changes, we will provide notice through an app update or this page. The revised policy takes effect from the date it is posted.
