BizCard Scaner / 명함관리 & 스캐너
Effective date: 13 August 2026 · Last updated: 13 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how OmniAI (“we”, “us”) processes information when you use the mobile app BizCard Scaner (Korean name: 명함관리 & 스캐너, Android package kr.omniai.bizcardscaner).

The app is built local-first: scanned card images, OCR text, and your card file stay on your device unless you choose to send feedback or use a feature that needs the network (ads or an inquiry). We do not require an account.

1. Who is responsible

Controller: OmniAI · Website: https://www.omniai.kr

For privacy questions, use Settings → Feedback & requests in the app, or contact us through the website above.

2. What we store on your device

By default the following stay in on-device storage (SQLite and app files):

On-device OCR (ML Kit) runs on the phone. Card images and OCR text are not uploaded for scanning and are not sent to the advertising SDK.

3. App permissions

Permissions are requested when you use the related feature. You can deny or revoke them in system settings; that feature will then be unavailable.

Camera

CAMERA

Used only to photograph a business card in the scan screen. We do not use the camera in the background or for unrelated recording.

Photos / selected media

READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED · READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below)

Used when you pick an existing card photo from the gallery (system photo picker / selected items). We do not need access to your entire photo library.

Contacts (read)

READ_CONTACTS

Used when you tap Import contact groups so we can read group names on the device and copy those names into the app. We do not upload your address book.

Contacts (write)

WRITE_CONTACTS

Used only when you tap Add to contacts on a saved card, so that card can be written into the device Contacts app.

NFC

NFC

Used to share your digital card when you open the NFC screen. We do not read other people’s NFC tags in the background.

Internet

INTERNET

Used to load Google AdMob ads and to send a feedback request if you submit one. Scan, search, and local backup work offline.

Vibration

VIBRATE

Used for light haptic feedback in the scan/save flow.

Microphone (camera library)

RECORD_AUDIO

Declared by the camera SDK. This app’s product features do not record voice or ambient audio. If the system shows a microphone prompt with the camera, you may deny it and still take still photos.

Storage (older Android)

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below)

Used for saving or restoring a local backup file on older Android versions. On newer Android, backups are written to the shared Download/bizcardscaner folder via the system media store (no extra storage permission). You can also restore from a file you pick.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free app shows banner ads (lists, groups, settings, My card) and occasional interstitial (full-screen) ads after you save a card or open card details, subject to in-app frequency limits. Ads are hidden on camera, crop, OCR, mapping, QR, NFC, and onboarding screens.

To serve ads, Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) may process:

In the EEA/UK and similar regions we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) so you can consent to or limit personalized ads where required. The app currently requests non-personalized ads from AdMob where that option is set.

We do not send card photos, OCR text, names, phones, emails, or contacts to AdMob. Ads are not used as a paywall for scanning.

Google’s advertising privacy information: https://policies.google.com/privacy · https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

You can also reset or opt out of the advertising ID in Android or iOS system settings.

5. Feedback & improvement requests

If you use Settings → Feedback & requests and tap Send, the app submits a request over HTTPS to:

POST https://www.omniai.kr/api/user-requests

The JSON body contains only:

We use this to handle your inquiry and improve the product. We do not attach card images, OCR, contacts, advertising IDs, or device logs unless you paste them into the message yourself.

The request is sent only when you tap Send. If you are offline, it is not uploaded. Please avoid putting unnecessary personal data of third parties in the message.

6. Other sharing

7. Retention

8. Children

This is a business-card utility, not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Your choices

Depending on your region you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection (for example under the EU GDPR or Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act). Contact us as in section 1.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you have read the revised policy.
